Job Family Summary

Plans and implements activities related to the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials. Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions. Ensures the availability of materials in the supply chain, as scheduled, and the maintenance of inventory at minimum acceptable levels. Responsible for sourcing and supplying raw materials, utilities and outside services, as well coordinating global procurement efforts. Coordinates with finance/accounting on matters involving inventory-carrying costs. Reviews and plans requirements for acceptable inventory. May assist with the establishment and maintenance of the production control system. May work with customers in auditing customer inventory levels and with internal and external vendors to comply with inventory policies. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

A highly skilled supply chain related specialist with a full understanding of area of specialization. Works independently and applies industry practices and solutions to creatively resolve issues or deliver outcomes having a wide and diverse scope impacting the supply chain function and/or local operation. Plans and delivers activities to support the successful execution of supply chain priorities. Practices good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Contributes to organizational objectives with short-term goals. Demonstrates collaboration, initiative and sound judgment. Expertise in one or more supply chain related specialty.

Roles & Responsibilities

• May be engaged in hiring, training, coaching and development of employees to maximize performance, promote career growth and support a high-performing team.
• Accomplishes operational and/or functional objectives that enable the successful execution of department goals; tracks, monitors and reports on KPIs and action plans.
• May manage to (or have understanding of) project budgets, the overall department annual budget and rolling forecast, ensuring business unit meets and/or exceeds key measures such as revenue, gross margin, capital expenditures and other financial & operational commitments.
• Liaison between customers and shipping. Helps to resolved issues and deliver outcomes.
• Ensures on-time delivery and customer satisfaction by providing excellent customer service.
• Utilizes reporting tools and assists users in learning and using reporting tools. Performs ad hoc reporting as required.

Education

Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
