Job Family Summary

Designs, develops, modifies and evaluates electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment, or other hardware systems and/or electrical engineering applications. Determines design approaches and parameters. Analyzes equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results. Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability. May also review vendor capability to support product development.

Provides strategic direction on new projects or assignments. Accountable for the alignment and delivery of initiatives. Provides recommendations to resolve complex technical challenges.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Ensures effective execution of corporate objectives, including hiring, training, coaching and development of employees to maximize performance, promote career growth and build a high-performing team.
• Manages to innovative operational and/or functional objectives that enable successful execution of larger department goals, ensuring outstanding performance of KPIs and action plans.
• May manage to (or have understanding of) project budgets, the overall department annual budget and rolling forecast, ensuring business unit meets and/or exceeds key measures such as revenue, gross margin, capital expenditures and other financial & operational commitments.
• Completes complex, critical engineering activities and tasks for a specific architecture or technology.
• Leads new product development including design, analysis, and testing.
• Communicates with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to understand technical requirements and provides technical direction to other team members.
• Authors technical documentation and creates standardized processes and procedures.

Education

Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
