About the Position:
As part of a centralized team, the Fixed Asset Accountant will be responsible for the general ledger accounting for fixed assets across international entities, balance sheet reconciliations, and the recording and management of fixed asset data.
The position will be accountable for the management of day-to-day activities relating to fixed assets and ensuring compliance with US GAAP accounting standards.
In addition, the Accountant will serve as a GBS Relationship Manager for international entities in relation to fixed assets with responsibility for regular communication with internal customers as well as responsibility for driving compliance with policy and overall reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day Fixed Asset Accounting for International entities.
- Check completeness and accuracy of fixed asset subledger and month-end closing activities.
- Prepare account reconciliations, journal entries, and adjustments.
- Monitor a system of controls, policies, and procedures for the recording of fixed assets.
- Co-ordinate periodic physical inventory counts of fixed assets and identify items for disposal
- Initiate periodic impairment reviews for intangible assets and investigate the potential obsolescence of fixed assets
- Ensure financial records are in compliance with US GAAP.
- Consistently maintain appropriate internal controls and uphold company policies & procedures.
- Build relationships with and support key contacts in Corporate Accounting, GBS, and global entities.
- Compliance with SOX requirements and testing.
- Support Internal and External Audits.
Key Skills:
- Good working knowledge of Oracle or similar integrated software products.
- Exposure to and in-depth knowledge of US GAAP Accounting policies.
- Must be proficient in managing and analyzing large data sets.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced target driven environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required.

Education and/or Experience:
- Degree in accounting or equivalent preferred and 2-4 years of relevant experience.
- Must be fluent in English (written and spoken) and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
