We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sr Product Manager, international metering (IEC standards), Grid Edge, to join our team and lead the development and management of Itron’s next-generation electric International (IEC standards-based) meters, cutting-edge products that blend advanced communications, grid intelligence, and sustainability in powerful new ways. You won’t just manage a product—you’ll be helping shape the future of the smart grid.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product management, a deep understanding of the electricity metering industry, and a passion for driving innovation. Product managers will be expected to define the strategic direction of their products through the lens of the knowledge they acquire about their business’s strategic goals and the market’s demands.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute product strategies for electricity smart metering solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, marketing, and customer support to ensure successful product development and launch.
Conduct market research and analysis to identify customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape.
Define product requirements and specifications based on customer feedback and market insights.
Manage the product lifecycle from concept to end-of-life, ensuring products meet quality, cost, and performance targets.
Work closely with customers and stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure product satisfaction.
Monitor and report on product performance, making data-driven decisions to drive continuous improvement.
Manages innovative operational and/or functional objectives that enable the successful execution of larger department goals, ensuring outstanding performance of KPIs and action plans.
Specifies market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by ongoing visits to customers and non-customers.
Support internal and external customer training
Participates in trade show representation.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related field
At least 4 years of experience in Technical Product Management
Several years of experience in the utility industry
3 years of relevant IEC metering experience in sales, engineering, or marketing.
Strong problem-solving ability with the desire to take ownership of issues and follow through until resolution
Team player with proven ability to work effectively with business units,
Great communication and presentation skills with fluency in English.
Nice to have
3 years of experience in electrical metering product management is preferred
Experience working with Firmware is a plus
2 years of experience in a sales role is a plus
