As a Product Marketing Specialist within Itron’s Devices organization, you will play a key role in shaping how our solutions are brought to market across the Heat & Allocation, Water, and Electric lines of business. This role is ideal for a collaborative and curious marketer who enjoys translating complex technology into clear, customer‑centric value stories that resonate with utilities, partners, and industry stakeholders.

You will work cross‑functionally with product management, corporate marketing, sales, and external partners to plan and execute integrated marketing programs that support product launches, generate demand, accelerate pipeline growth, and increase industry awareness. This is a highly visible role that values accountability, creativity, and agility, with opportunities to make a meaningful impact in a mission‑driven organization focused on innovation and sustainability in the utilities and energy sector.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and manage integrated marketing programs and campaigns across multiple lines of business, ensuring alignment with business priorities and customer needs.

  • Develop clear, differentiated market positioning and messaging that authentically communicates the value of Itron’s technology solutions.

  • Create and contribute content for newsletters, advertising, promotional programs, trade shows, events, and digital marketing channels, with a strong focus on customer impact.

  • Collaborate with corporate marketing to coordinate resources, execute campaigns, and track performance against defined goals and metrics.

  • Identify, recommend, and help secure opportunities to promote Itron solutions through industry associations, events, sponsored media, and content campaigns; analyze results to optimize performance and investment.

  • Support the development and execution of Itron‑led and industry‑sponsored lead generation and awareness initiatives.

  • Develop and promote sales enablement tools, content, and training for direct and channel sales teams to support new customer acquisition and revenue growth.

  • Analyze marketing performance data (e.g., campaign results, conversion rates, digital engagement) to continuously improve strategies and outcomes.

  • Contribute content to internal and external communications, including email campaigns, newsletters, articles, and web content.

  • Partner with sales teams and customers to develop case studies, testimonials, videos, awards submissions, and other proof‑point assets.

  • Collaborate with corporate marketing and sales to identify and secure speaking and thought‑leadership opportunities that elevate Itron’s industry presence.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in product marketing, marketing communications, or a related role.

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results with accountability.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.

  • Experience translating technical concepts into clear, compelling, and customer‑focused content.

  • Background in technical and business writing and content marketing.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams in both remote and in‑person environments.

  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 15%.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience producing or contributing to visual and digital assets such as videos, animations, slide decks, and interactive content.

  • Familiarity with utilities, energy, submetering, or related technology markets.

  • Experience working with or marketing through industry associations, events, or channel partners.

  • Exposure to data‑driven marketing analysis and optimization.

  • Experience collaborating with sales teams to support pipeline growth and customer acquisition.
