About the Job :
- Handle and manage litigation and dispute matters (even in short notice period) involving the company, including civil, criminal, administrative, and consumer-related proceedings, from initial assessment through to resolution.
- Conduct legal analysis and develop case strategies, including assessing legal exposure and advising on appropriate courses of action, whether through litigation or alternative dispute resolution (from negotiation (pre-litigation) phase until litigation phase.
- Prepare, review, and settle legal documents, including but not limited to the pleadings, statements of defense, responses, legal memorandum, and settlement agreements.
- Represent the company before the court/government officials/personnel/law enforcer related to criminal and civil litigation and other legal proceedings, including criminal report submission.
- Liaise and manage the internal communication with the relevant internal stakeholders (including with the fraud, collection and customer service team) to obtain relevant facts and supporting evidence, and provide legal advice in relation to dispute handling and risk mitigation.
- Liaise with and oversee external counsel in the conduct of proceedings to ensure consistency of legal position, quality of submissions, and cost efficiency.
- Manage disputes arising from regulatory and consumer matters, ensuring compliance with applicable financial services laws and regulations.
- Monitor and report on case developments, maintain proper case records, and provide periodic updates to management on litigation status and risk exposure.
- Identify recurring legal issues and recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures, including improvements to internal policies and procedures including review any potential litigation-related documents.
About You :
- Hold a law degree from a reputable university.
- Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in litigation, either in private practice or as in-house counsel, preferably within the financial services sector.
- Possess a valid Advocate License from PERADI.
- Demonstrated experience in handling civil and/or criminal proceedings.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Indonesia due to the nature of the business and high level of interactivity with the management (foreign persons).
- Excellent in negotiation and communication skills, both written and in verbal, in both English and Bahasa Indonesia and stakeholder management skills.
- An excellent understanding in commercial dispute resolution and financial services business and its compliances would be preferable (familiarity with regulatory frameworks, consumer protection laws, and dispute resolution processes).
- Strong legal drafting and analytical skills, with the ability to formulate clear and defensible legal positions.
- Ability to work independently as an individual contributor and as a team in manage multiple complex matters concurrently with a minimal supervision.
- Has been exposed to engagement with high level and working level of relevant government officials.
- Able to work under pressure with good time management and in long working hours.
