Purpose of the Position
The Defence Warehouse Officer is responsible for managing the receipt, dispatch, and supply of materials within the warehouse. This role ensures that all incoming and outgoing goods are processed efficiently and accurately, materials are supplied to assembly on time, and inventory records are accurately maintained within the ERP system. The Defence Warehouse Officer plays a critical role in maintaining stock accuracy, ensuring the smooth operation of the warehouse, and supporting the assembly process.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
Maintain the Defence and REDARC West stores and distribution section of the warehouse ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are consistently met.
Support the transactional requirement of ordered and delivered goods through the REDARC ERP system.
Material handling and selection.
Maintain a suitable level of materials between stores and production in response to open and future shop orders.
Liase with customer representatives to ensure adherence to their delivery and transport requirements.
Ensure products are packaged appropriately in line with customer mandated requirements ensuring a safe delivery to its destination.
Take a hands-on approach to the supply and delivery of products to external and internal customers.
Ensure all components in and products out meet Defence project requirements and project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
Assist with reviewing deliverables ensuring they are fully compliant to specification where applicable.
Provide input to project team hours and costs on a regular basis as required.
Manage movements of Defence warranty returns and shipping.
Maintain material cycle counts.
Ensure WHS policies are adhered to and raise any non-conformances.
Undertake other reasonable tasks as delegated by Line Manager.
What you will need:
Current South Australian motor vehicle licence.
Current Forklift truck (Class LF) licence
Experience in organising a warehouse environment
Experience in logistics including Dangerous Goods and managing stock and stores.
Basic knowledge of inventory control and ESD requirements.
A proactive approach to problem solving.
Must be eligible to obtain a Defence Security clearance and Known Consignor Scheme.
Clearances
As a Defence employer, applicants must be Australian citizens and either possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearances. The requirements for this role include a police clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain a baseline security clearance.
