Role Summary

Job Description: Responsible for 5GC and EPC products deployment design and act as a technical lead in projects, provide leadership and competence for integration teams. Collaboration with Mavenir platform team and public cloud architects to increase data throughput and scaling of Mavenir NextGen Converged Core products on public cloud offerings. Create solution design, including architecture and overall solution integration using multi-vendor, cross-geo strategy. Provide key inputs for technical decisions relating to system requirements and system architecture. Participate in customer workshops, provide solution and technical expertise, and deliver solution presentations. Share and transfer knowledge, mentor and collaborate with other team members. Work with customer teams on regular basis for discussion and testing of new releases, new features, capacity reports. Execute rigorous performance evaluation and load analysis of Mavenir NextGen Converged core applications based on network forecast provided by customer and analyzing critical parameters of software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Experience in at least 6 of the following 5G packet core elements: AMF, SMF, UPF, NRF, AUSF, NSSF, PCF, SCP, or SEP
  • 4G EPC nodes (MME, SGW, PGW, PCRF and HSS)
  • 5G core SA architecture, and SBA architecture
  • Work stream for N3 N4 and N6 interfaces and policies for optimal placement and functioning of the 5G UPF
  • DPI (Deep Packet Inspection) technologies
  • Experience in E2E solutioning with one or more public cloud providers: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or IBM Cloud, and their integration.
  • Assessing architectural artifacts and improving productivity of engineering teams by deploying appropriate CI/CD tools for faster integration
  • Experience in telecommunications networking concepts, in SDN/NFV, virtualization and cloudification, edge computing.

Job Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, or a directly related field plus five (5) years of experience in telecommunications engineering. Will accept a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, or a directly related field plus two (2) years of experience in telecommunications engineering.

Must have two (2) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

  • Experience in at least 6 of the following 5G packet core elements: AMF, SMF, UPF, NRF, AUSF, NSSF, PCF, SCP, or SEP
  • 4G EPC nodes (MME, SGW, PGW, PCRF and HSS)
