Nomad Digital are currently recruiting for an Automation Test Engineer to join part of our QA team who are focused on providing solutions for Wi-Fi on high-speed trains, and working on all aspects of verification and validation of Nomad Digital products.
This role will primarily involve working with one of our existing Reporting Test Engineers and developing a maintainable test automation framework to reduce manual test effort on existing and new reporting applications/GUI’s.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- This role requires a versatile, multi skilled test analyst, with several years of test automation experience. Key elements of the role are as follows; however, this is not an exhaustive list of duties and responsibilities:
- Analyse software/system/application requirements and ensure clarity of understanding.
- Familiarization of the software/system/application under test and any related software/hardware.
- Create or assist in creating test plans.
- Design manual and automation test cases based on requirements, scope and other documentation.
- Obtain or create test data required for testing.
- Work with other team members to set up required Hardware test beds, environments and networks.
- Work with team members to select suitable automation test applications and develop framework.
- Work with team members to maintain Automation Regression framework.
- Test software releases by executing assigned tests.
- Record test results and capture appropriate evidence.
- Report bugs to the development team, via the defect management tool, providing sufficient information about the bug for the development team to replicate and fix the issue.
- Report progress to the QA manager/Test Lead and other stakeholders when required.
- Reply to returned bug reports in a timely manner.
- Re-test resolved bugs, record results and capture appropriate evidence.
- Update test cases based on discovered bugs.
- Provide inputs to the team to improve the testing approach/strategy.
- Keep up-to-date on relevant technology, popular testing tools & techniques and the business domain.
- Investigate, analyse and replicate Customer Incidents within test environments.
- Provide feedback and support for customer fix/improvement plans.
- Review user guide, release notes and other product related documents.
- Provide support to project level engineers when required
Qualification & Experience Requirements:
- Degree, or equivalent experience, in a technical discipline
- Minimum of 2-3 years Automation test experience and exposure to a range of automation test methodologies and applications
- 2-3 year’s experience of Report based GUI testing
- Linux literacy desirable but not essential
- Basic Networking Experience
- Familiarity with various system hardware architectures desirable (e.g. x86/64, RISC..etc)
