Nomad Digital are recruiting for a Service Manager to join our Operations & Maintenance Team - the hybrid role is based in France.

You'll be joining a global division in an exciting phase of transformation as we partner with customers, internal teams, and our parent company Alstom, to excel our approach to exceptional project management.

You will manage the delivery of Nomad Digital projects within your region, leading a range of varied projects that see the integration of our unique and award-winning solutions combining connectivity software and hardware.

Your role will be to ensure planned works are completed to budget, safely and within set timescales, managing our ecosystem of clients, suppliers, contractors, and partners (both internally and externally). Client facing skills are essential, supported by the ability of good planning, co-ordination, communication skills and hands-on experience.

What will I be doing?

A Service Manager at Nomad is responsible for leading a range of projects with a variety of complexities and is accountable for their successful execution.

Along with completing all planned works both safely and to budget, they will manage the needs and subtleties of the Client, our Suppliers and all other involved Stakeholders (both internally and externally) - all of this within defined timescales.

They will be expected to travel for work occasionally with extended stays abroad required for certain projects.

The role also requires client facing skills which are essential, supported by the ability of good planning, co-ordination, communication skills and hands-on experience.

Specific Duties include..

  • Undertake the role of Service Manager on a number of projects and/or tenders.
  • Responsible for the preparation of the Project Execution Plan and programme.
  • Preparation of the project Cost Performance Review and Contract Monthly End Sales documents.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership of the project team.
  • Effective communication and management of the client.
  • Preparation of the Project Risk Management data base.
  • Delivery of the project in compliance with Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental Plans.
  • Excellent management of the labour and plant resource profiles in line with the project programme.
  • Input into the preparation and implementation of the Nomad Project Quality Management System throughout
    the project.
  • Develop and maintain a professional relationship with the client, contractors & suppliers at all levels
    throughout the project.
  • Input into Reporting Injuries, Diseases & Dangerous Occurrences Regulation Reports.
  • Demonstrate effective day to day management of the project.
  • Undertake or nominate project staff to carry out all site briefings.
  • To undertake any travelling (where applicable) that may be necessary under the terms of your contract.
  • Project close out.

What experience or qualifications do I need to have?

  • University degree either technical / business / project mgmt. or equivalent professional experience
  • PMP certification or 5-year project management experience

Experience Requirements:

  • Project/Practice Management competencies
    - Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and
    requirements.
    - Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities.
    - Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
    - Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to client.
    - Effectively applies our methodology and enforces project standards.
    - Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.
    - Minimises our exposure and risk on project.
    - Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
    - Full use of Nomad Digital Intranet site for storage of project related data and use of procedures and
    documents relating to the ‘Project Delivery’ is mandatory.
    • Proven ability to work as a Service/Project Manager on at least 3 projects in different stages simultaneously.
    • Ability to run new businesses/projects without the extended support of regular business systems.
    • Strong document and process controls.
    • Ability to travel within Europe.
    • Able to work on site, in train depots, shunting yards.
    • Experience of working in a high-growth business requiring an adaptable and flexible stance.

Other Essential Requirements:

  • A clean driving license required
