Overview

Technical Project Managers are cross-functional leaders who drive scalable, complex and global initiatives with large scale technical programs. The role exists to make Penguin Solutions more organized, efficient, and connected to deliver measurable results across a wide range of areas. They are technical people working across the product and infrastructure domains who work on projects that are complex and require extensive cross-functional collaboration. Technical Project Managers go deep on learning their team’s systems and leverage their technical knowledge to influence and drive cross-team projects and roadmaps.

The AI Factory group is an agile, high-performing PMO team consisting of Program Managers, Business Analysts, and technology Subject Matter Experts. In an exceptionally fast-paced environment, we lead programs that address our customer’s crucial initiatives and emerging needs. Ultimately, we are champions for what’s best for customer programs, helping Penguin Solutions to achieve business objectives, work strategically together, and enable adaptability in a challenging, rewarding, and ever-changing landscape. We’re always looking for ways to optimize.

Responsibilities

  • Manage cross-functional programs in a matrixed organization covering a range of areas.
  • Lead and prioritize strategic initiatives while working closely with teams across the organization, including partner teams around the world.
  • Tackle complex problems with a strategic mindset and create programs for solving those problems.
  • Proactively identify upcoming risks, inefficiencies, issues, and bottlenecks, and resolve cross-team issues.
  • Develop and manage end-to-end project plans and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Provide hands-on program management during analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post implementation phases.
  • Provide day-to-day coordination and quality assurance for projects and tasks.
  • Define and own metrics and key performance indicators.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5+ years of experience as a project/program manager.
  • Experience leading cross-organizational programs and experience setting and holding teams and individuals accountable to timelines and deliverables.
  • Track record of operating independently and taking initiative, embracing ambiguity, demonstrating creativity, being detail-oriented, and delivering results in a highly organized manner.
  • Analytical and problem-solving experience including experience collecting data points across projects to drive change.
  • Communication and interpersonal experience, including relationship building and collaboration within a cross-functional team.
  • Experience understanding product requirements and translating needs into plans.
  • Experience working on large scale platforms.
  • Experience working with technical teams, especially in machine learning or artificial intelligence.
  • Experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires independent time management, task prioritization, flexibility, and keen experience to identify problems and proactively work towards solutions.

Location

This is a remote position in the United States.

Travel

Up to 30%

Compensation & Benefits

The pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position in the United States is $116,000 - $137,000; the pay ultimately offered within the expected range may vary based on business considerations, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. The position is bonus-eligible, and there are medical, dental, and vision benefits available. There is a 401k saving plan and other benefits, such as Paid Time Off, Life Insurance, and an Employee Assistance Plan.
