Overview

The Senior Manager Tax Operations at the Company will be responsible for the tax provision (ASC 740) for multiple legal entities across various jurisdictions. Reporting to the Head of Tax, this position is integral to ensuring accurate tax reporting, compliance, and financial accounting in alignment with U.S. tax laws and regulations. This role is critical to the tax function as it evolves and will work closely with the Director of International Tax, who handles global tax compliance outside the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and review of the quarterly and annual consolidated income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740, including both current and deferred tax calculations.
  • Work with external advisor to develop efficiencies with quarterly provision process.
  • Manage the global tax provision process, including tax reserves (FIN 48 & FAS 5), valuation allowances, and tax-related financial disclosures.
  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns in compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Support the accurate reporting of tax positions in financial statements, ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and internal audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Director of International Tax on non-U.S. tax compliance and provision and coordinate efforts to ensure consistency across tax jurisdictions.
  • Provide guidance on tax accounting issues such as stock compensation and international tax matters, working closely with the broader tax team.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the tax provision process.
  • Manage shared resources with other members of the tax team, contributing to the development and growth of the tax function.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, assessing their impact on tax provision calculations, financial reporting, and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA preferred.
  • Combination of Big Four and in-house corporate tax experience is highly preferred.
  • Significant experience with tax provision (ASC 740) and related reporting processes, including building complex tax provision models.
  • Familiarity with SAP and ONESOURCE tax compliance software is required.
  • Experience with tax reserves (FIN 48 & FAS 5) and tax-related financial disclosures.
  • Ability to take ownership of the provision process and work independently to manage it internally.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and with senior management.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Location

This can be a remote position in the United States with regular travel to the SF Bay Area.

Travel

Travel will be approximately 1 week per quarter for the quarterly close process in the SF Bay Area, with occasional other travel required as needed.

Compensation & Benefits

The base pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position in the United States is $160,000 - $200,000; the pay ultimately offered may vary based on business considerations, including location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. The position is bonus-eligible, and there are medical, dental, and vision benefits available. There is a 401k saving plan and other benefits, such as Paid Time Off, Life Insurance, and an Employee Assistance Plan.
