Overview
Penguin solutions is seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead the strategy, development, and expansion of our OriginAI Solution Portfolio. In this role, you will be responsible for building and communicating validated artificial intelligence reference architectures that harmonize our product offerings, highlight our thought leadership, and provide flexible, modular solutions that meet diverse customer requirements. You will be critical in defining the product vision, roadmap, and execution strategy for comprehensive solutions that integrate hardware, software, and services, while positioning Penguin Solutions as the leader in AI infrastructure design, deployment, and management.
This role combines technical expertise, strategic leadership, and operational execution to shape OriginAI as a modular and scalable solution that communicates our expertise in AI and high-performance computing (HPC).
Responsibilities
- Develop and articulate a clear product strategy for the OriginAI solution, including hardware, software, and services, to address customer needs across deployment, management, and operational workflows.
- Define and maintain reference and solution architectures, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and industry best practices.
- Prioritize and manage trade-offs for product features, ensuring timely delivery while balancing market needs, competitive differentiation, and technical feasibility.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate advanced technologies, such as GPU-accelerated systems, and enhance cluster management capabilities through tools like Scyld ClusterWare.
- Engage with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to gather feedback, identify opportunities, and refine OriginAI offerings.
- Foster strategic partnerships with technology providers (e.g., NVIDIA, AMD, and Dell) to enhance product capabilities.
- Lead efforts to expand routes-to-market, enabling adoption across diverse customer segments and industries.
- Support sales and marketing teams with tools and training to effectively position and communicate the value of OriginAI solutions.
- Define success metrics, monitor product performance, and use data-driven insights to drive continuous improvement.
- Provide regular updates to executive leadership, highlighting key performance indicators, opportunities for innovation, and risks.
Qualifications
- BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. MBA preferred.
- 12+ years of experience in product management, preferably in solutions integrating hardware, software, and services.
- Proven ability to define and execute product strategy in complex, technical environments.
- Proven experience with reference and solution architectures for scalable infrastructure deployments.
- Strong domain expertise in AI infrastructure, cluster management, and high-performance computing environments.
- Familiarity with technologies such as NVIDIA and AMD GPUs, networking, and storage solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams across engineering, product management, and sales organizations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate strategy, product vision, and technical details to diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical, strategic, and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, partners, and internal teams.

This is a remote position in the United States.

Compensation & Benefits
The base pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position in the United States is $175,000 - $195,000; the pay ultimately offered may vary based on business considerations, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. The position is bonus-eligible, and there are medical, dental, and vision benefits available. There is a 401k saving plan and other benefits, such as Paid Time Off, Life Insurance, and an Employee Assistance Plan.
