Overview
The Senior Channel Sales Engineer (CSE) is a hybrid Technical and Sales role within the Americas Sales Organization supporting the Central Region. Together with your territory Regional Sales Manager, you will jointly manage the channel sales activities with distributors, resellers and system integrators to drive sales of the Stratus family of products within your sales territory. In your Pre-Sales technical role, you will deliver presentations, perform product demonstrations, manage proof-of-concept (POC) initiatives and act as a Stratus subject matter expert in addressing the technical questions of our partners and customers. This is a dynamic customer-facing position that requires both technical and commercial expertise to be successful.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical knowledge, expertise and support to channel sales partners
- Ownership for technical presentations, product demonstrations and sizing specifications for system installations/implementations.
- Manage partner led opportunities submitted via Deal registration and assist with evaluating business and technical requirements to propose Stratus solutions tailored to the required customer outcome.
- Manage technology refresh opportunities identified by Sales and Services teams
- Act as consultant/Subject Matter Expert (SME) in providing advisory support to partners and customers in the areas of system architecture design, product selection and sizing, system optimization, etc.
- Prepare system configurations and quotes using Stratus quoting tools and partner sizing tools
- Own and drive (POC) process by providing technical support, training and assistance throughout the process as well as capturing feedback for Engineering enhancements and customer success criteria.
- Lead the technical enablement of partners in the territory via training, webinars, joint on-site deployment, etc.
- Hands-on configuration and deployment of demo systems to drive new business opportunities
- Comprehensive technical understanding of Stratus products and the ability to align and position product(s) with customer requirements and sales opportunities
- Build and maintain strong technical and commercial relationships with key solution partners
- Comfortable with travel as per sales opportunities and conference requirements
- Trade show / Conference support and attendance including technical equipment preparation and speaking sessions
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years experience as a Systems Engineer/Channel Sales Engineer or equivalent technical/sales experience
- Bachelor degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
- Strong technical expertise in virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, HCI, etc.) as well as the Windows and Red Hat Linux operating systems.
- Experience in the areas of server configuration, integration and deployment
- Experience in full data center technology stack. Emphasis on compute, networking and storage architectures
- Experience in HPC clusters and architecture designs for LLM and Data inference
- Knowledge of high availability or Fault Tolerant computing (VMware HA, Windows Clusters, etc.) is an advantage
- Experience in Financial, Oil & Gas, Retail, Gaming, Industrial Automation, or Utilities is a plus

- SFDC pipeline management and forecasting
- Driving Channel opportunities to a technical win and expanding opportunity size
Location
- Remote – US with preference to the Central Region (AR, IL, IN, IA, KS, LA, MI, MN, MO, NE, ND, OH, OK, SD, TX, WI).

Compensation & Benefits
The base pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position in the United States is $125,000 - $145,000 plus commission based on sales territory performance; the pay ultimately offered may vary based on business considerations, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. There are medical, dental, and vision benefits available. There is a 401k saving plan and other benefits, such as Paid Time Off, Life Insurance, and an Employee Assistance Plan.
