Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Storage Engineer to join our team and play a key role in managing our data storage infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with DDN and VAST storage solutions, as well as a strong understanding of storage area networks (SANs) and network attached storage (NAS). In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of storage administration, including provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting. This is a customer-facing position.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, build, and create DataStorage Arrays that meet customer needs and availability.
- Manage and maintain DDN, Pure, and VAST storage area networks (SANs) and network attached storage (NAS) systems.
- Provision storage resources to meet application and user requirements.
- Configure and manage storage pools, volumes, and snapshots.
- Implement and maintain data protection strategies, including backups and replication.
- Monitor storage performance and capacity utilization.
- Identify and troubleshoot storage-related issues.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks.
- Document storage configurations and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest storage technologies and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in storage administration.
- Proven experience with DDN and VAST storage solutions.
- In-depth understanding of SANs and NAS.
- Strong understanding of storage protocols (e.g., FC, iSCSI, NFS).
- Experience with storage management software (e.g., DDN SFA, VAST Management Console).
- Strong Linux systems administration skills and experience with open-source technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with storage virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware vSAN, EMC VPLEX).
- Experience with cloud storage solutions (e.g., AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage).
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
- High-Performance Storage and Parallel file systems used in HPC/AI and Cloud.
- HPC Cluster admin experience.
Location
This is a remote position in the United States.
Travel
Minimal travel may be required.
Compensation & Benefits
The base pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position in the United States is $101,000 - $126,000; the pay ultimately offered may vary based on business considerations, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. The position is bonus-eligible, and there are medical, dental, and vision benefits available. There is a 401k saving plan and other benefits, such as Paid Time Off, Life Insurance, and an Employee Assistance Plan.
