Job Overview

Penguin Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Test Technician to support manufacturing operations by ensuring production test equipment operates at optimal performance and reliability. This role is responsible for tester setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, software installation, and product testing support to minimize production downtime and achieve operational objectives.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Test Engineering, Product Engineering, Manufacturing, and global engineering teams to ensure equipment readiness, support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to tester breakdowns and equipment issues to minimize production downtime.
  • Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair tester hardware and software.
  • Perform tester setup, calibration, qualification, and verification prior to production release.
  • Support Memory New Product Introduction (NPI) activities to ensure successful product qualification and timely production readiness.
  • Conduct first-level troubleshooting of tester and product-related issues and escalate complex problems to engineering teams as required.
  • Maintain tester readiness through effective spare parts inventory management and availability of critical components.
  • Participate in equipment enhancement and continuous improvement projects to improve reliability, productivity, and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, downtime reports, and shift handover documentation.
  • Support equipment and spare parts audits, including the disposal of damaged or obsolete components in accordance with company procedures.
  • Assist engineers in implementing process improvements, testing methodologies, and engineering change activities.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering Or an equivalent technical discipline.
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Candidates with 1 to 3 years of experience in manufacturing, electronics testing, semiconductor operations, or automated test equipment maintenance will have an added advantage.
  • Experience in a semiconductor or high-volume electronics manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of electronics troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.
  • Familiarity with electrical and electronic measurement instruments.
  • Understanding of preventive maintenance practices and methodologies.
  • Basic PC hardware and software installation skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems and networking concepts is advantageous.
  • Experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) is an added advantage.
