We are looking for GLS Team Leader to assist the GLS Functional lead in the provision of Scientific Services and Customer Support. Lead the General Laboratory Services (GLS) Team (Glasswash and Technical Stewarding teams), to provide the agreed range of activities to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the delivery of the services within GLS Scientific Operations whilst ensuring customer requirements are met and their needs are anticipated at all times.

  • Ensure appropriate supervision of the service teams within area of responsibility, delivering the services identified in the statement of works, and ensuring that all service requests are allocated, resolved and closed out accordingly.

  • Monitor teams’ performance to ensure that the services are delivered to the required standard.

  • Engage in local customer interaction and foster long term profitable relationships.

  • Motivate the teams to deliver the results required to achieve the site strategic objectives.

  • Support and contribute to transformational activity appropriate to team and subject matter expertise.

  • Support Scientific Services in meeting financial and performance targets, ensuring action plans are in place and completed for any non-conformance.

  • Ensure any communications are timely, accurate and promote PerkinElmer’s core values.

  • Participate in the development of and implement standards within area of responsibility to ensure compliance with relevant Legislative, Company, Regulatory (GxP) and Safety regulations.

  • Monitor all groups within area of responsibility to ensure that they operate safely, and that all ap-propriate risk assessments, documentation, procedures and audits are in place.

  • Carry out recruitment as per the company’s policies and procedures.

  • Carry out inductions and training as per the company’s and site’s requirements.

  • Monitor the performance of staff and provide coaching as necessary.

  • Monitor staff absence and keep the GLS Functional lead informed.

  • To take all necessary steps to ensure security of the Client’s Facilities within area of responsibility.

  • To ensure the welfare of staff and provide support within the working environment.

  • To hold regular staff meetings to ensure clear communication within the team. Where actions arise from these meetings, ensure that they are completed in a timely fashion.

  • To meet with the GLS Functional Lead and to produce any metrics as requested and assist in producing reports relating to Scientific Operations.

  • To assist within GSK Ware-R&D and on other sites within the GSK portfolio as may be necessary.

  • To report any customer or client comments (VoC or VoP), either negative or positive to the GLS Functional Lead and take action to resolve and communicate.

  • To report and ensure appropriate action taken for any incidents of accident, fire, loss, theft, damage, or any other irregularities.

  • To attend and actively participate in relevant meetings and training courses as required.

  • Actively seek and identify opportunities for business growth and improvements within the contract.

Competencies:

  • Scientific Operations experience within a relevant environment

  • Ability to communicate at all levels.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • People management experience.

  • Flexibility within the contracted hours.

  • Computer literate (Skype/Teams Meetings, TCs, VTCs).

  • Comfortable chairing and facilitating meetings.

  • Strong team player and a ‘can do’ attitude.

  • Intuitive and proactive nature.

  • High moral standards with absolute integrity.

  • Working to and achieving targets set.

  • Experience within a customer-facing environment.

  • Support and assist the site team to achieve the site objectives.
