Job Purpose:

We are looking for a highly motivated Lab Support Coordinator to provide critical lab support as part of a PerkinElmer lab service team at customer site in Stevenage. The goal is to enable smooth facilitation and effective function of the working environment by providing a single point of contact to ensure the smooth running of the laboratory environment. The Lab Support Coordinator will typically lead the coordination of services for a designated building or location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide time back to the customer through delivery of:

  • Being the first point of contact reception service

  • Delivering orientation for new staff or visitors in their area(s) of support

  • Providing proactive laboratory and corridor checks, acting and reporting on findings

  • Raising and monitoring tickets to enhance the science in their areas

  • Providing continuous improvement initiatives through 5S/Lean6σ methodology

  • Conducting customer led lab safety checks

  • Participating in customer led audits and inspections and providing administrative support

  • Transporting engineers to and from the customer and the laboratory in which they are working

  • Receipt and storage of deliverables in their areas

  • Raising sample shipments utilising customer shipping programs

  • Transfer of samples around site to their necessary places

  • Build relationships with customers, colleagues and service partners to provide a collaborative approach to the operational management of the lab space.

  • Meet regularly with key stakeholders (lab staff, service partners, management) to identify, review and resolve issues in a timely manner and/or escalate as necessary.

  • To provide timely communication to lab users on impact of any site service work.

  • Attend relevant meetings. (e.g. team meetings, laboratory user meetings)

  • To share the success of the team and the support provided.

  • Escalate new service request from the customer through the appropriate reporting lines.

  • Supporting the LSC Area Supervisor ensuring training packets and process flows of additional site specific responsibilities are kept up to date.

  • To attend training sessions appertaining to the post and ensure this training is documented.

  • Collates metrics for KPIs, relevant metrics, SLAs and weekly tasks.

  • To adhere to all company & client policies, procedures, site rules and regulations.

  • To comply with all company & client procedures relating to health & safety & safe working practices.

  • To uphold PerkinElmer’s Core Values and demonstrate the key behavioural anchors.

  • Carry out any other reasonable request as deemed necessary by line manager.

  • Preferred experience within the pharmaceutical industry adhering to regularity standards. E.g. good document practices.

  • A good standard of education. GCSE grade A to C or equivalent in Maths and English.
