Position Overview: PerkinElmer is looking for a talented and motivated Sourcing Specialist to join our dynamic procurement team. As a Sourcing Specialist, you will play a key role in identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sourcing processes, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders.

Reporting: This individual will report into the Sourcing Manager and contribute to our Low-Cost Country Sourcing Project to optimize cost ($25M+ reduction), improve supply chain efficiency, and enhance overall competitiveness. This individual will play a key role in supporting the project team from initiation to completion – expected to be 18-24 months in duration with ~19 waves of sourcing, covering 9 commodities and 2,000 + part numbers. This role requires Sourcing experience with a proven track record of successfully delivering broad international sourcing deliverables on time, within scope, and on budget. The Sourcing Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Sourcing, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance) and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Supplier Identification and Evaluation: Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers. Evaluate and qualify suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and other relevant criteria. Negotiation: Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable agreements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals. Request for Proposal (RFP) Management: Develop and manage the RFP process, including the creation of bid documents, vendor communication, and evaluation of proposals. Recommend supplier selections based on comprehensive analyses. Contract Management: Assist in the creation and management of contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements. Collaborate with legal and other relevant departments as needed. Cost Analysis and Savings Initiatives: Conduct cost analysis and identify opportunities for cost savings. Implement initiatives to optimize procurement processes and improve overall efficiency. Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers. Address and resolve any issues that may arise during the procurement process. Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies. Provide regular updates to the team and contribute to strategic decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 8 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers.
  • Familiarity with procurement software and tools.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
