Location Gelang Patah, JohorMY Job ID REQ-056099The Senior Manager, Logistics Optimization will lead strategic logistics initiatives across key facilities in Malaysia, including the insourced raw materials warehouse, outsourced finished goods distribution center (DC), and cross-border logistics flows to plants and warehouses in Singapore.
This leadership role is responsible for driving inventory accuracy improvements, streamlining logistics flows, and stabilizing warehouse operations in Johor, Kerry DC, and Tukang. The position requires strong operational leadership, project management capability, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure logistics excellence, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Management
- Drive inventory accuracy through structured cycle counting, timely reconciliation, and strong SAP/WMS governance.
- Optimize warehouse layout, storage utilization, and material flow for improved efficiency and throughput.
- Support key IT projects related to WMS/ ERP interface, WMS implementation, TMS enhancements, etc.
- Oversee daily operations of raw materials (insourced) and finished goods (outsourced) warehouses to support production continuity and customer service levels.
- Implement operational controls to ensure order fulfillment, including daily KPI tracking (OTIF, backlog, CAPA).
- Build and maintain strategic 3PL partnerships to support logistics transformation roadmaps.
Logistics Operations
- Lead end-to-end logistics activities, including inbound, outbound, domestic, and cross-border flows for Johor warehouses.
- Oversee 3PL performance and ensure service levels, cost control, productivity, and safety targets are met.
- Strengthen SOPs, enforce safety and compliance with all corporate quality and regulatory standards.
- Drive continuous improvement through VSM, Kaizen, and Lean methodologies.
- Ensure compliance with Singapore and Malaysian customs, DG, and HazMat regulations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally (Sales, Trade Compliance, Planning, Procurement, etc.) to align logistics with business priorities.
- Optimize logistics cost through data-driven analysis of warehouse productivity, carrier performance, and route efficiency.
- Coordinate closely with Singapore-based teams for regional distribution alignment.
- Proactively resolve logistics escalations by engaging 3PLs, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field.
- 7–10 years’ experience in logistics or warehousing, ideally in regulated or manufacturing environments.
- 2–5 years of team leadership or 3PL management experience.
- Deep understanding of inventory control principles, cycle counting, and reconciliation tools.
- Proficient in SAP and/or other ERP/WMS systems; advanced Excel skills.
- Knowledge of ISO standards and local/international product handling regulations.
- Proven ability to manage logistics budgets and lead operational improvement projects.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, especially in cross-border contexts.
- Experience in warehouse transitions, site start-ups, or logistics stabilization projects.
- Familiarity with Johor logistics operations and Singapore–Malaysia cross-border flows.
- Continuous improvement mindset, with exposure to Lean/Six Sigma tools
