Location Manitoba, ManitobaCA Job ID REQ-056518The Material Handler maintains and oversees the PerkinElmer Winnipeg site operations through a multi-faceted role which includes warehouse management, inventory control, shipping/receiving, Customer Care & Admin duties, as well as sales and service support.
Location: On site M-F 8-4:30 in Winnipeg, Manitoba
Job Responsibilities:
- Performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, distributing and order fulfilment of merchandise, products, materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
- Checks goods received and for distribution against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of goods and rejects unsatisfactory items.
- Packages and prepares products and merchandise for final shipment and posts weights and shipping charges. Lifts heavy items and may operate a forklift.
- Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped.
- Reviews customer orders, examines, stocks and distributes merchandise, products and materials in inventory warehouses, distribution centres or manufacturing lines.
- Enters and processes customer orders by phone and email. Provides pricing/quotes, coordinates accurate Purchase Orders from customers and completes the entry in SAP.
- Maintains inventory of office materials and coordinates with supplier. This includes shipping, breakroom, office and lab supplies.
- Coordination with third party for certification for specific materials; including set up and re-packing of materials once certification is complete.
- Support to Service Engineers, including coordination with customers regarding pick up and drop off of customer goods, assisting with packing and unpacking of instruments, running simple verification tests.
- Other tasks and assignments as necessary for the operations and functioning of the site.
Basic Qualifications:
- Knowledge of inventory and stock management and control
- Role requires a high degree of autonomy and self-direction; often working independently in a quiet office with low supervision.
- Ability to read and analyze Information
- Adept at handling multiple complex tasks simultaneously
- Proficiency with prioritizing and meeting multiple deadlines
- Excellent time management
- Process improvement mindset
- Ability to lift heavy materials
- Data entry skills
- Understanding of how to book bills of lading and arrange couriers.
- Office management – mostly around keeping supplies in-stock and arranging vendors when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
- SAP knowledge
The annual compensation range for this full-time position is $47,000 to $51,000 CAD annually. The final base pay offered to the successful candidate will be determined by factors including internal equity, work location, as well as individual qualifications, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
