Job Description Summary:
This position will support drug discovery with a focus on execution of medium-high throughput cell-based assays to support immunology, oncology and cardiometabolic projects.


The candidate will perform laboratory procedures in accordance with established protocols and regulatory requirements, and will collaborate closely with other scientists across functional teams, providing critical cell-based assay support for lead identification and optimization.

  • Job Responsibilities
  • Run validated cell-based assays to support pharmacological evaluation of small molecules, peptides and antibodies to support immunology, oncology and cardiometabolic indications.
  • Generate quantitative, reproducible data incorporating cellular pharmacology fundamentals.
  • Operation of laboratory automated systems
  • Maintain timely, accurate laboratory records of activities & comply with good documentation practices.
  • Management of laboratory inventories
  • Compliance with good documentation practices and maintenance of timely and accurate laboratory records of activities
  • Compliance with laboratory safety procedures and guidelines

  • Critical Skills:
  • in vitro cellular assays
  • Strong record-keeping and troubleshooting skills; familiarity with electronic lab notebooks.

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in life sciences with >= 2 years of full-time work experience, or M.S. degree with 0 –2 years full-time working experience.
  • Proficient in cell-based assay techniques (e.g., reporter gene assays, alphaLISA, HTRF, Meso Scale Discovery.
  • Familiarity with lab automation including liquid handlers such as Biomek i7, Linx, and Bravo (Agilent).
  • An ideal candidate should be flexible to accommodate rapidly changing priorities and deadlines, able to communicate effectively and professionally in a fast paced, multidisciplinary team-based environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Immunoassays (MSD, ELISA, Luminex).
  • Building in vitro cellular assays.

Working Environment:

  • Must be able to work in a laboratory, controlled environments requiring personal protective equipment (e.g., lab coat, safety glasses, etc.) in laboratory.
  • Job pace may be fast and job completion demands may be high.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position more than 25% of the time
  • The person needs to occasionally move between labs, corridors, adjoining rooms, and buildings onsite. Frequently operate on instruments, objects, tools or controls, which will require regularly bending, squatting, stretching and reaching in order to perform in a service function.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include without limitation, the ability to observe details at close range distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus in order to perform the essential service functions of this position.
  • Employee may be required to handle hazardous waste according to local, state, and federal regulations. Duties may include identifying, handling, generating, accumulating, storing and labeling hazardous waste.
  • Potential risk to lab-based hazards including but not limited to extreme temperature, biological materials, hazardous chemicals.

The annual compensation range for this full-time position is $72,000- $85,000 USD Annual. The final base pay offered to the successful candidate will be determined by factors including internal equity, work location, as well as individual qualifications, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
