Location Sacramento, CaliforniaUS Job ID REQ-056445The OneSource Laboratory Services Site Leader is responsible for the operational leadership, quality oversight, and performance management of the OneSource Laboratory Services team supporting a strategic customer account. This role partners closely with the OneSource General Manager to ensure standardized, high-quality service delivery and consistent customer responsiveness across all supported sites.
The OneSource Laboratory Services Leader works in close collaboration with the customer stakeholders, and internal service leadership to ensure laboratory support services, including Glasswash and Autoclave Operations, Media and Buffer Preparation, Laboratory Automation Support, and Flow Cytometry Services are executed in compliance with regulatory, safety, and contractual requirements. The role is accountable for tracking, analyzing, and reporting critical KPIs while driving continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
This position requires regional and site-based travel based on business and customer needs, with the ability to travel by air, vehicle, or other approved means as required.
Job Responsibilities
OneSource Laboratory Services Operations, Quality & Compliance
- Partner with customer stakeholders and internal OneSource teams to ensure laboratory support services (e.g., glassware washing and sterilization, media and reagent preparation, lab automation system support, and flow cytometry operations) are delivered with scientific rigor, consistency, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure all services are performed in alignment with Good Laboratory practices , EHS, biosafety, and site-specific laboratory procedures.
- Collaborate with customer safety representatives and internal EHS teams to maintain a strong laboratory safety culture, including proper handling of chemicals, biological materials, and hazardous waste.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for OneSource Laboratory Services, providing technical guidance, escalation support, and best-practice implementation across service lines.
- Develop, review, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions, and controlled documentation to ensure consistent, repeatable, and auditable execution of services.
Customer Engagement & Performance Management
- Interface with key customer contacts to ensure defined KPIs and SLAs are met or exceeded, proactively identifying and mitigating risks to service delivery.
- Lead regular stakeholder meetings with laboratory staff, service providers, and management to identify, review, and resolve service, quality, or compliance issues in a timely manner.
- Participate in floor-level, building, and operational oversight meetings to align OneSource activities with customer laboratory priorities.
- Support customer growth initiatives by identifying opportunities to expand OneSource Laboratory Services offerings (e.g., additional automation support, expanded flow cytometry services, or increased media preparation capacity), collaborating with internal and customer stakeholders and following formal approval processes.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Mentor, train, and develop on-site OneSource staff in laboratory support operations, scientific workflows, customer communication, and service excellence.
- Ensure staff competency across service areas, including glasswash and sterilization, media preparation, laboratory automation platforms, and flow cytometry instrumentation.
- Partner with the service team to drive talent development, performance management, workforce planning, and succession planning.
- Facilitate weekly team lead meetings, individual one-on-one sessions, and formal performance evaluations.
- Lead interviewing, hiring, and onboarding activities to ensure new team members are effectively trained and integrated.
- Address performance or disciplinary issues in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Resource Planning, Reporting & Administration
- Ensure efficient deployment of on-site resources through effective scheduling, cross-training, and workload balancing.
- Maintain accountability for assigned staff administrative responsibilities, including onboarding, time and labor approval, expense management, and time-off administration.
- Track, analyze, and report operational KPIs and service metrics, transforming data into clear, visual, and actionable insights for internal leadership and customer reviews.
- Ensure compliance with all training requirements related to health and safety, security, environmental stewardship, and operational standards.

- Ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced laboratory settings
- Experience collaborating with global and cross-functional teams
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or related field with 5+ year of leadership experience, or
- Associate’s degree in a scientific discipline or related field with 10+ years of leadership experience
Leadership experience may include leading, guiding, mentoring, or coaching others.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting research laboratories, preferably within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
- Strong knowledge of laboratory safety practices and regulatory requirements
- Familiarity with 5S, Lean, and/or Six Sigma methodologies
Working Environment:
- Must be able to work in a laboratory, controlled environments requiring personal protective equipment (e.g., lab coat, safety glasses, etc.) in laboratory.
- Job pace may be fast and job completion demands may be high.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position more than 25% of the time
- The person needs to occasionally move between labs, corridors, adjoining rooms, and buildings onsite Frequently operate on instruments, objects, tools or controls, which will require regularly bending, squatting, stretching and reaching in order to perform in a service function.
- Occasionally move or lift up to 25 pounds (potential for occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds).
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include without limitation, the ability to observe details at close range distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus in order to perform the essential service functions of this position.
- Occasionally operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
- Employee may be required to handle hazardous waste according to local, state, and federal regulations. Duties may include identifying, handling, generating, accumulating, storing and labeling hazardous waste.
- Potential risk to lab-based hazards including but not limited to extreme temperature, biological materials, and hazardous chemicals.
- May be required to complete Medical Clearance, Respiratory Protection Training, and Fit Testing to wear a respirator as protection against hazards present in the laboratory environment.
The annual compensation range for this full-time position is $130,000to $160,000. The final base pay offered to the successful candidate will be determined by factors including internal equity, work location, as well as individual qualifications, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
