International Trade Compliance Specialist

Responsibilities
Location Shanghai, ShanghaiCN Job ID REQ-056628Transactional Compliance Execution
- Perform Sanctioned Party List (SPL) screening for all counterparties and transactions to ensure compliance with global trade regulations.
- Investigate and resolve SPL hits or potential matches in our Global Trade Management System (SAP GTS) and through offline processes and screening tools to prevent shipment delays and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accuracy and completeness of compliance master data (SPL, HTS, ECCN, COO) used in screening and trade declarations.
- Execute high-risk transactional steps such as escalation of positive matches, documentation of screening decisions, and adherence to internal Manuals and Playbooks.
Process Execution & Quality Control
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all transactions, ensuring activities are traceable and audit-ready.
- Conduct quality checks on screening results and resolve data inconsistencies or system issues in collaboration with stakeholders
- Escalate unresolved SPL matches or high-risk transactions per established escalation protocols.
Knowledge & Specialization
- Support SPL screening processes by providing guidance and clarification to internal stakeholders on compliance requirements, ensuring accurate and timely execution of screening activities.
- Stay up to date with internal rule changes, global sanctions updates, and system configurations through regular training.
Country-Specific Role - China
- Serve as an in-country SPL compliance specialist ensuring trade compliance input for company subsidiaries not integrated with company ERP system (SAP GTS).
- Assist with day-to-day activities such as blocked order clearance and compliance documentation review when local teams are unavailable.
- Maintain close coordination with regional APAC Regional lead to ensure alignment on local procedures, risk tolerance, and escalation protocols.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in International Trade, Law, Logistics, Business, or related field
- 2-3 years of experience in Trade Compliance
