About The Role
Whilst providing procurement expertise and leadership to the business in support of delivering or securing critical new business for QinetiQ, you will have the opportunity to be at the forefront of the development and management of lifecycle relationships with suppliers.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading the supply chain activity within your bidding/project teams
  • Defining, planning and executing cost effective, commercially sound procurement solutions for complex bids
  • Leading supply chain discussions with suppliers and partners
  • Ensuring procurement solutions are customer focussed, meet program timescales and technical requirements.
  • Identifying and mitigating risks to ensure a successful end to end solution
  • Supporting supply chain processes and ensuring compliance with business governance
  • Providing procurement expertise to stakeholders and the wider business
  • Developing an excellent understanding of the industry to improve procurement solutions and identify opportunities
  • Collaborating with peers to develop and enhance systems and processes and share best practice knowledge

This role is full-time, 37 hours per week, and may be based out of either our Bristol, Farnborough or Malvern offices. We offer flexible, adaptive working options, with typically two to three days working from home.


Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience in the understanding of external customer requirements and the recommendation of supply chain solutions which contribute to the winning of new business and/or improvements in the delivery of existing projects
  • Proven stakeholder management experience within a procurement function
  • Commercial acumen and contract negotiation experience
  • Management/ownership of the full procurement lifecycle
  • Experience in supply chain risk management – identification and mitigation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that support collaborative stakeholder relationships

Desirable

  • Degree in a Business or Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
  • MCIPS or equivalent experience
  • Defence experience
  • Knowledge of Agile processes and techniques
  • Sustainable Procurement; environmental, social, governance (ESG)
