The Australia Sector has more than 1,200 employees operating across four countries, namely Australia, Canada, Germany and the United Kingdom.

Reporting to the Australian based Head of People Experience and Transition & Integration, you will be responsible for partnering with the People Function, our Australia Sector business leaders and our people in the development of an inclusive Sector culture where our people want to belong and know they are supported to thrive as their authentic selves. This role will also provide specialist insight on all country specific legislative requirements and external expectations on diversity, equity and inclusion.

This role will be based in Farnborough, UK.

In terms of key responsibilities, you will:

  • Partner with the Head of People Experience and Transition & Integration and the Group Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) lead to implement the Australia Sector Inclusion DEI approach and delivery, aligned with Group strategy, frameworks, processes and tools
  • Provide specialist insights and operational level subject-matter expertise and consultation to deliver cultural and behavioural change interventions at all levels to ensure we create an environment where our people can thrive
  • Provide DEI specialist insight and experience, supporting the Australia Sector in the delivery of best practice standards, impactful cultural and behavioural solutions
  • Support the Head of People Experience and Transition & Integration and Sector Internal Communications and Employer Brand Manager in creating, improving and embedding inclusive employee engagement approaches where all of our people are heard and understood
  • Coach peers and provide insight and future thinking on inclusion, belonging, equity and diversity across all of our geographies
  • Support the development and implementation of the Group and Sector level strategies and plans to ensure consistency and to mitigate Group Enterprise and Regulatory Risk

As our ideal applicant, you will present with:

  • Previous experience in different operating contexts in leading DEI and belonging activity and of driving broad and diverse DEI activity across a global organisation
  • HR, CIPD and/or DEI qualifications
  • Experience in supporting and influencing change in complex and multi-national companies and in designing and/or delivering DEI workshops in global organisations
  • Some familiarity, knowledge, understanding or experience of at least of one of the following with the willingness and readiness to learn the others:
    • Australian anti-discrimination laws, experience in driving diversity initiatives in Australian contexts, knowledge of Indigenous Australian cultures and reconciliation efforts
    • UK equality legislation, experience in implementing diversity and inclusion initiatives within UK organizations, understanding of UK cultural dynamics and sensitivities
    • Canadian human rights legislation, experience in fostering diversity and inclusion in Canadian organizations, understanding of Canadian multiculturalism and indigenous inclusion
    • German anti-discrimination laws, experience in promoting diversity
  • Experience of prioritising, managing and leading programmes of work
  • An ability to work collaboratively, develop and sustain strong working relationships
  • Experience in coaching, guiding and developing others
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and a consultative leadership style
  • Eligibility for Baseline Personnel Security Standard clearance
