The Role
The role of an Employee Relations (ER) Casework Advisor is challenging, varied and fascinating with no two days being the same. You will be an integral part of a small team within our People Function who focus solely on supporting functional managers across our UK sites with managing ER issues. You will provide advice and guidance on ER cases such as performance, absence, disciplinaries, grievances and investigations, ultimately developing functional manager capability and confidence.
We are looking for someone who is resourceful, has a friendly approach and a 'can do' attitude, who wants to make a real difference by inspiring and empowering managers to make positive improvements in culture and behaviour of their teams.
Day-to-day, you will:
- Deliver timely ER advice and guidance to empower functional managers to proactively manage their ER cases, within an acceptable level of business risk
- Coach, support and upskill functional managers in order to develop ER capability within the company
- Work collaboratively with Senior People Advisors and in-house Legal team to resolve complex ER cases
- Identify trends in cases in order to design, deliver and implement upskilling sessions for functional managers
- Continually review our People Instructions, Toolkits and Knowledge Guides to ensure we remain up to date with legislative changes and good practice
- Maintain accurate and up to date records of all actions and documentation relating to cases being managed through to conclusion
- Ensure the ER casework team mailbox is regularly reviewed and enquiries responded to in a timely manner, usually within 24hrs
This role is full-time, 37 hours per week where you will work on a hybrid basis, you will working on site two days per week and the rest from home.
Experience of the Employee Relations Casework Advisor:
- Significant experience of managing high volumes of complex ER cases at pace
- Demonstrable experience of upskilling functional managers to improve knowledge, competence and confidence and mentoring of junior team members
- Experience of working in complex organisations or with complex technology
Qualifications of the Employee Relations Casework Advisor :
- Chartered CIPD status or equivalent
