The Role
As a Receptionist, you’ll have the opportunity to undertake a range of reception duties across the business presenting a positive image of QinetiQ.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing reception services and assistance to any internal and external customers
  • The administration of visitors and event bookings in line with security and health and safety requirements
  • Being conversant with the site emergency response process and sharing knowledge with local guards as appropriate
  • Communicating and exchanging information whilst identifying continuous improvement opportunities within your role
  • Understanding the concepts of the site team and having awareness of other business areas
  • Carrying out any additional duties requested by the Head of Site

Essential experience of the Receptionist:

  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • The ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Being able to show good organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • To be able to provide attention to detail with a willingness to learn new skills and processes

Essential qualifications for the Receptionist:

This role is 21 hours per week based at our Haslar site. Set working times are 07:00 – 11:15 and 11:00 – 15:30 on a 2 week basis.

Our facilities at the Haslar Marine Technology Park are state-of-the-art, including our ocean basin and rotating arm, and marine towing tank, offering an unparalleled environment for testing and refining designs. Our marine technology offers our global customers a service to deliver constrained hydrodynamic model tests of surface ships, submarines, offshore structures, and renewable energy devices.
