Applications are now sought from seasoned support professionals for a new role in Canberra. Reporting to QinetiQ's Australian Chief Executive, the Chief Executive Operations Manager is responsible for providing (or overseeing the provision of, as appropriate) the full range of support functions to the Chief Executive and Australian Leadership Team.
This newly created role will create efficiency and effectiveness through the coordination of activities that contribute to the effective leadership of the Australian operation. In terms of specifics, this will see the successful applicant:
- Acting as the secretariat for business reviews, the Sector Advisory Board, Sector objectives, actions and KPI management
- Preparing, coordinating and quality assuring complex and/or sensitive correspondence, reports, corporate documentation, submissions, talking points and meeting briefs
- Working effectively with the Australian Leadership Team, Leadership Community and other key stakeholders across the Group in order to ensure the effective management of information from to and from the Chief Executive, contributing to effective decision making
- Providing executive support to the business and to activities such as budgeting and strategic planning
- In conjunction with the Corporate Affairs team, coordinating and managing senior executive, government, diplomatic and industry stakeholder engagements and visits
- In conjunction with the Legal team, leading reporting and governance for the sector
Our ideal applicant presents with:
- Tertiary qualifications in a business, management or related field, or equivalent qualifications or experience
- Previous experience within the Defence sector either in industry or the customer environment including existing relationships across the Defence sector and customer community
- Experience supporting government relations activities, preferably within a Defence sector environment
- Proven experience providing executive support to senior business leaders and in supporting activities such as strategic planning and budgeting
- Prior experience supporting legal and governance reporting (or similar)
- Demonstrated experience in leadership and management gained in a role such as operations manager, project manager, or senior executive assistant
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications
- Superior communication skills, an ability to build trusted working relationships and a collaborative style
- Flexibility to take on a range of administrative tasks
- High sense of initiative and problem solving skills coupled with superior time management abilities
Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be eligible for Australian Defence security clearance. Current security clearance will be well regarded.
