Export Control Officer - Canberra

Guided Weapons & Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) – Maritime and Maintenance

Are you ready to play a key role in ensuring compliance with international trade controls in a dynamic defence environment? We are seeking an Export Control Officer to join our small but high-impact team. You will support priority acquisition and sustainment programs while contributing to broader organisational trade control efforts.

What you’ll do:

• Provide expert support to a range of programs, ensuring compliance with trade control obligations.

• Analyse and interpret legislation and policy across regimes such as the International Traffic in Arms Regulations, Arms Export Control Act, Defence Trade Controls Act, and European legislation.

• Engage professionally with internal and external stakeholders, managing sensitive information with discretion.

• Balance competing priorities while communicating clearly and confidently.

What we’re looking for:

• Experience providing support services to programs.

• Strong skills in legislative and policy analysis.

• Understanding of trade control and export control frameworks.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Proven ability to manage sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
