We are currently accepting expressions of interest for a Requirements Integration Officer to join our team based in Canberra.

The User and Requirements Integration Officer provides technical liaison and requirements assurance between emerging projects, user communities, and engineering authorities. The role focuses on early engagement, requirement clarification, and technical integration, ensuring evolving user needs are understood, feasible and appropriately scoped within approved capability, engineering, and contractual constraints.

The Requirements Integration Officer will be accountable for:

  • Conducting habitual engagement with emerging projects and user communities, including SOCOMD, particularly where weapon platforms or configurations are undergoing change (e.g. weekly R2–R4 engagements).
  • Supporting early identification and clarification of user‑driven technical requirements, ensuring they are well defined, traceable, and technically coherent.
  • Confirming that SOCOMD and other user technical requirements are met within approved capability, scope, and design intent.
  • Applying sound technical judgement to provide appropriate pushback where requests exceed technical feasibility, approved scope, or program constraints.
  • Supporting alignment between user intent and engineering solutions, identifying potential integration, safety, or sustainment implications.
  • Identifying emerging technical risks arising from user requirements and escalating issues through appropriate engineering and governance pathways.
  • Supporting CENG and engineering teams by providing informed user context to support decision‑making.

As a suitably experienced and well- rounded requirements quality & integration professional, the Requirements Integration Officer will have:

  • A degree (preferred) in Engineering (mechanical, systems, aerospace or electrical) or a related technical field such as science, ICT, or defence capability
  • Experience defining, reviewing, and managing requirements and ensuring these requirements are clear, traceable, testable, and aligned to capability constraints
  • Exposure to requirements tools such as DOORS or similar and systems engineering processes (V-model, lifecycle integration)
  • Ability to engage directly with operational users such as military stakeholders
  • Experience reviewing or interpreting technical solutions
  • Ability to identify emerging risks from changing requirements and be able to support decision making with context and analysis
  • Confidence working in ambiguous evolving project environments

Due to the nature of the role, applicants must hold an Australian Defence security clearance. NV1 preferrable.
