We are now accepting applications for two Site Supervisors to join our MakerSpace team, one in Townsville and one in Brisbane. The MakerSpace Site Supervisors will competently perform a wide variety of structured tasks with limited scope and complexity by applying principles and concepts to a range of work assignments within the MakerSpace environment.
The opportunity
As a Site Supervisor, your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- The day-today operation of the MakerSpace site in accordance with current policy, procedure or direction from the MakerSpace Program or Operations Manager, including administration and reporting tasks
- Sign in, induction and authorisation of all users in accordance with current policy and procedures
- Maintaining the safety and management of MakerSapce users
- Forecasting consumables in accordance with Governance with Procurement Manager’s guidance
- The collection, stock take and storage of procured materials
- Managing all preventative and required maintenance of site equipment
- Liaising with local Commonwealth units to promote MakerSpace capability
- The delivery of formal and informal user training
- Delivery of MakerSpace programs and MakerSpace course content, supporting delivery at remote sites as required
To be successful in the position of Site Supervisor, you will need to bring with you:
- Demonstrated technical experience in Electronics, IT, Electrical, Fitter machinist or Mechanical trades or a minimum of two years engineering experience in Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics or a similar discipline.
- Experience working on design and prototyping unique solutions or low-rate production runs
- Experience with any of the following: Laser CNC, 3D printing, PCB printing, VR/AR dev, software programmable kits, smart applications and general prototyping
- Demonstrated ability to manage the operation of fabrication machines and associated software
- Ability to research and select of the shelf software solutions in order to make timely project recommendations regarding necessity, purchasing and deployment
- Well developed computing skills inclusive of an intermediate level of MS Office and CAD experience
- An ability to effectively track multiple simultaneous projects and ensure the progression of all in an efficient and timely manner
- An ability to coach and mentor others to achieve project requirements
Due to the nature of the role, applicants must hold an Australian Defence security clearance, Baseline minimum or have the ability to obtain one
