Job Title: Senior Employee Services Administrator - Payroll

Global Grade: GG7

Location: Boscombe Down

Role Type: Permanent – Full Time

Salary : £30 - 33k (DOE)

As a member of the Enterprise Services team, provide support to Employee Services delivering planned or requested activities which will depend on the requirements of the individual task in order to effectively deliver high quality services to our customers.

  • To provide 1st line payroll support (via phone, email, and drop-in visits into the Helpdesk)
  • To provide an excellent level of customer service for all customers
  • To administer the payroll for three different payrolls
  • To process all payroll files in accordance with the payroll schedule and payroll cut-offs
  • To ensure compliance with all HMRC and payroll policies, procedures and work instructions
  • To ensure compliance with GDPR regulations, organisational policies, procedures and work instructions
  • To liaise with all third parties
  • To update and maintain all internal work instructions and processes

Key Accountabilities

  • Automony - to support the delivery of a high quality business service with a moderate degree of supervision and guidance working with defined procedures
  • Resolution/escalation of queries - to support the resolution of complex issues
  • Communication/Collaboration - to support the delivery of a high standard of customer service communicating with tact and diplomacy at all times, taking accurate messages and passing them on the approprate person in a timely manner
  • Continuous Improvement - to support the continuous improvement of Employee Services by identifying and communciating improvement opportunities within their own role and assisting other team members with continuous improvement projects sand activities
  • Resilience - to support resilience across Employee Services and learn new skills as identified by the Team Lead
  • Professional Development - to develop professional competence through structure learning and/or through work assignments

Key Capabilities/Knowledge

  • Able to demonstrate a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other IT applications
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail

Experience of the Payroll Administrator

  • Demonstrable experience within a payroll position
  • In depth knowledge within Tax Codes, National Insurance and Statutory Sick Pay
  • High level of customer service
  • Excel skills - V lookups, pivot tables etc
