The Role
As a Property Services Operative, you will provide robust and flexible support and undertake a number of duties such as routine maintenance tasks, plumbing, grounds maintenance, escorting and other general duties in support of the Property Operations on a site.
Day-to-day, you will provide support by delivering planned or requested activities in order to effectively deliver a high-quality operations service across the MOD Boscombe Down site.
Your responsibilities will include:
- To deliver tasks as identified such as plumbing, installations, painting and decorating and other general services
- To ensure maintenance standards and quality of work delivered are to the required level
- To assist in resolving customer issues with outstanding tasks or deliveries
- To ensure the appropriate movement of consumables & materials across site in the ongoing management of services
- To ensure the collection of waste items from across site and disposal in the correct receptacles
- To assist the Grounds Maintenance team ensuring that the site grounds are kept to the required standard
Essential experience of the Property Services Operative:
- Ability to safely deploy equipment
- Previous plumbing experience an advantage
- Manual Handling awareness / risk appreciation
- Previous experience in a similar role
Essential qualifications for the Property Services Operative:
- Full Driving License

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Boscombe Down site.
MOD Boscombe Down is a unique operational site featuring the longest military runway in the UK. Primarily focusing on providing testing, evaluation and support services for aviation and aerospace systems. Renowned for its extensive flight-testing capabilities the site plays a vital role in the UK’s aviation defence contributing to the development, testing and airworthiness of military aircraft enhancing operational readiness and effectiveness.
Please note that all applicants for this role must be eligible for SC clearance, as a minimum.
