About the role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Loans Assessor / Credit Officer to join our team.

The Loans Assessor / Credit Officer will be responsible for assessing new loan applications from our consumer customers and our broker network from pre-approval through to settlements, managing credit risk, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical abilities, high attention to detail and a proven track record of success in loan / credit assessments.

This is a full-time permanent role with immediate start.

Responsibilities:

• Assess loan applications to approve or decline in a timely manner
• Ensure credit notes are accurate and compliant using the 4 C's
• Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant information to assess creditworthiness
• Manage credit risk by monitoring credit limits, reviewing credit reports, and identifying potential credit issues
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements
• Communicate credit decisions to customers, brokers and internal stakeholders
• Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to resolve credit-related issues
• Provide support and guidance to other team members as needed

Required skills and qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience in credit analysis or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications
• Knowledge of credit policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements
