About the role

As a Customer Service & Collections Officer, you will be responsible for providing a friendly and professional service to our valued customers from our modern Contact Centre located close to Miami Beach on the Gold Coast.

You will be responsible for your own portfolio of accounts that will require your daily attention to ensure your customers are up to date with their loan repayments. You will be required to contact customers via telephone, email, SMS and post who are in arrears up to 60 days to negotiate catch up payment arrangements to avoid further escalation of their accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contacting customers via telephone, email, SMS or postal mail to discuss overdue accounts and negotiate payment plans
  • Using effective negotiation techniques to reach mutually beneficial agreements for debt repayment.
  • Providing courteous and professional assistance to customers while maintaining a firm stance on the collection process
  • Advising customers on the consequences of not repaying us including Defaults, Repossession, and legal Recovery
  • Using skip tracing tools to locate non-paying customers who we have lost contact with
  • Addressing and resolving any issues or disputes related to outstanding debts in a timely and efficient manner
  • Accurately documenting in our CRM all communication and payment arrangements with customers
  • Collaborating with colleagues to optimise customer service and collection strategies to achieve team goals.

Required skills:

  • Experience in Customer Service, Collections, Finance or Sales.
  • Good time management, organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Able to handle high pressure environments, remaining calm, courteous and methodical while demonstrating empathy to the customer as well as a determined and focused results orientation
  • A team player, pitching in to help colleagues in a fast-paced environment
