Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team for a 12-month Maternity leave contract. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The accountant will work closely with the Head of Finance and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and provide accounting support.

Responsibilities:

• Manage financial records and ensure accuracy of financial transactions
• Reconcile bank statements and other financial records
• Prepare monthly transaction journals
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Weekly payroll processing for multiple entities
• BAS, PAYG and payroll tax lodgments
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• 3+ years of experience in accounting or related field
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, MYOB Acumatica and other accounting software
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Candidates are required to undergo a criminal history check
