About the Role

We’re on the hunt for an Associate Director, Financial Services to join us onsite in Austin, TX. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on the operational execution of our embedded finance and ROLLER Payments business. You’ll be the right hand to the VP of Financial Services, leading day-to-day operations, guiding a growing team, and helping ensure our processes scale as we do.

This role is ideal for someone with fintech or banking experience who thrives in fast-moving environments. You’ll bring clarity to complexity, turn strategy into execution, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure ROLLER’s financial services operations are efficient, scalable, and customer-centric.

  • Monitor and continuously improve key processes, ensuring they’re efficient, documented, and ready to scale.

  • Implement tools and systems to drive automation and reduce operational friction.

Build & Coach a High-Performing Team

  • Lead a team of 3 (growing to 8–10), setting clear expectations and creating opportunities for development and growth.

  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and collaboration.

Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a connector across departments — from Product and Engineering to Sales and Support — to ensure alignment on financial initiatives and smooth delivery.

  • Coordinate cross-team efforts to launch new features, resolve issues, and continuously improve our offering.

Be the Payments Expert in the Room

  • Partner with Sales and Solutions Engineering to support proposal development, pricing conversations, and RFP responses.

  • Join prospect and customer calls to provide payments expertise and help position our embedded finance capabilities effectively.

Own Escalations & Risk Response

  • Act as the go-to escalation point for complex payment or finance-related issues.

  • Collaborate across teams to troubleshoot and resolve incidents quickly and professionally.

Turn Strategy into Action

  • Work closely with the VP to translate strategic initiatives into executable operational plans.

  • Contribute to long-term planning and roadmap delivery.

Track & Communicate Performance

  • Own operational KPIs and reporting (e.g. transaction success, settlement timelines, exception rates).

  • Provide insights and updates to senior leadership on performance and areas for improvement.

Keep Us Compliant & In Control

  • Ensure adherence to relevant regulatory requirements (e.g. PCI-DSS, KYC/AML).

  • Maintain and enforce strong internal controls, policies, and procedures.

About You

  • 8+ years in financial services, payments, fintech, or banking operations — with 3+ years leading teams.

  • Proven ability to manage, coach, and scale high-performing operations teams.

  • Strong understanding of embedded finance, payment gateways, merchant acquiring, and settlement processes.

  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Confident communicator who can engage across technical and commercial audiences.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or similar (MBA a plus).

  • Experience using systems like Salesforce, Adyen, or Stripe preferred.
