Our Team:

At Semtech, our Test Engineering team is responsible for enabling the successful transition of advanced analog and mixed-signal ICs from design into high-volume production.

We operate at the centre of product development, working closely with design, product engineering, and offshore manufacturing partners to ensure silicon is fully characterised, robustly tested, and production-ready. Our engineers develop scalable ATE solutions, optimise test efficiency, and ensure consistent product quality across global manufacturing sites.

This is a highly technical and collaborative environment where engineering insight directly influences product performance, yield, and time-to-market.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Staff Test Engineer to develop, deploy, and optimise semiconductor test solutions using the Advantest V93000 platform.

You will work across wafer and package-level testing, supporting the full product lifecycle from early silicon evaluation through to mass production. This includes test development, characterisation, qualification support, and deployment to offshore OSAT partners.

The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams and a strong focus on delivering robust, high-quality, and efficient test solutions under demanding project timelines.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement wafer and package-level test solutions on the Advantest V93000 platform, including hardware and software development
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate new designs and provide structured feedback from ATE results
• Participate in design reviews and support implementation of analog and digital Design for Test (DFT) techniques
• Work with Product Engineering to complete ATE characterisation ensuring IC robustness and test coverage
• Develop reliability and qualification screening solutions to support device life testing and qualification
• Deploy test solutions to offshore OSAT manufacturing sites and support production ramp-up activities
• Lead or participate in periodic test review meetings with project stakeholders
• Optimise existing test solutions to improve yield, reduce test time, and enhance overall manufacturing efficiency

Minimum Qualifications:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• 3–5 years’ experience in semiconductor ATE testing
• Experience with Advantest V93000 preferred
• Experience supporting offshore test or production environments
• Strong background in high-speed mixed-signal IC testing
• Understanding of high-speed PCB design and schematic development

The Right Candidate Will Be Able To:

• Build strong collaborative relationships across design, product, validation, test, and applications teams
• Work effectively to aggressive project timelines
• Manage multiple projects across different stages of the product lifecycle
• Engage with external hardware vendors to ensure timely test solution delivery
• Deliver high-quality, accurate test results aligned with quality standards
• Produce clear, concise, and timely technical reports and project updates (written and verbal)

Why Join Us?

• Work on advanced semiconductor technologies used in global high-speed systems
• Take ownership of test solutions that directly impact product performance and yield
• Collaborate with world-class engineering teams across multiple disciplines
• Gain exposure to full product lifecycle development from design to production
• Drive continuous improvement in test efficiency and manufacturing quality

Career Growth Philosophy:

At Semtech, we value engineers who combine technical depth with practical impact. You will be supported in developing your expertise in ATE systems, mixed-signal testing, RF Testing, and production engineering, with opportunities to grow into senior technical roles.
