Mission:
Skip is on a mission to fast-track Australians into home ownership by building a fairer, faster path to buying a home.
Our Treasury & Securitisation team sits at the heart of making that possible - securing the funding that powers our loan book and enables more Australians to stop paying their landlord's mortgage and start paying their own. This role exists to build that capability from the ground up, and to help Skip scale to make a meaningful dent in the mortgage market.
About the role:
This is a rare and genuinely career-defining opportunity for a hands-on structured finance professional ready to take a meaningful step up. Skip's loan book is scaling aggressively, and we are now building the treasury function to match, establishing warehouse facilities, and laying the groundwork for a full Securitisation program.
You will work directly alongside one of Australia's most respected bank treasurers, an ex-big 4 Treasurer who will bring senior relationships, deep market knowledge, and strategic direction. Your role, working closely with the Founders, is to complement that seniority with day-to-day execution, operational ownership, and the drive to build internal capability that lasts. Critically, we expect this person to approach the role with a modern, technology-first mindset - leveraging the latest AI tools and working closely with our internal product and engineering teams to systematise and automate treasury operations, eliminating repetitive manual work from day one.
Over the next 12–24 months, the expectation is that you grow into the role of Treasurer – taking full ownership as the business scales. This is not a role for someone looking to maintain a steady state. It's a builder role, in a company with serious momentum, at exactly the right moment.
Key Responsibilities:
Own the day-to-day management and execution of warehouse facilities, including drawdowns, covenant compliance, reporting, and lender relationship management
Lead the structuring and execution of ABS and RMBS transactions, coordinating across legal counsel, trustees, rating agencies, and credit investors
Manage rating agency relationships and processes, including preparation of rating agency presentations, surveillance reporting, and ongoing engagement
Build and maintain cash flow models, funding stack analysis, and scenario planning to support treasury decision-making and board reporting
Develop and manage relationships with credit investors, warehouse providers, and other funding counterparties in the Australian and global structured finance market
Support the design and establishment of Skip's securitisation program, including trust structures, documentation frameworks, and operational processes
Leverage AI tools and work together with Skip's internal product and engineering teams to automate treasury workflows, reporting, and processes, building a function that scales without scaling the manual workload
Work closely with the broader business to ensure treasury infrastructure supports Skip's growth plans and product expansion
What you will bring:
6–9 years of hands-on experience in securitisation, structured finance, or treasury within Australian financial services
Direct, end-to-end deal execution experience in ABS or RMBS transactions - you have run deals, not observed them
Experience across one or more asset classes including residential mortgages, auto ABS, consumer lending, equipment finance, or broader structured finance
Strong technical proficiency in deal structuring, warehouse management, rating agency processes, cash flow modelling, and trust documentation
Tech proficiency and a genuine enthusiasm for leveraging modern tools and AI to automate and systematise financial processes - you don't accept repetitive manual work as the default
The ability to operate with genuine autonomy and sound judgment in a lean, fast-moving environment without a large team beneath you
Ambition to build, grow, and ultimately own the treasury function - this is a stepping stone to heading the team
Comfort working in an early-stage, high-growth company where processes are built, not inherited
Ability to work in a lean, fast-moving environment where proactive problem-solving is essential
Why join us:
Work directly with one of Australia's best Treasurers. This kind of mentorship and exposure that simply doesn't come along often.
Build something that matters. This is a ground-floor opportunity to design and build a treasury function from scratch at a lender with real momentum, real backing, and a genuine social mission
A career-defining step up. The path to heading this function is explicit and near-term - you won't be waiting years for an opportunity that may never come
Work at the frontier of finance and technology. You'll have the full support of an internal product and engineering team to help you build and automate — this is treasury for the modern era, not spreadsheets and manual processes
Serious company, serious scale. Backed by leading US venture funds, global credit partners, and prominent Australian investors, Skip is in a true hyper-growth phase with a loan book scaling rapidly and major distribution partnerships already live
A positive impact. Your work helps hard working Australians’ skip to home ownership sooner.
A team that backs you. We move fast, we take ownership, and we back each other to do the best work of our careers
