WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

As a fill-time Data Engineer with the TotallyAwesome business unit, you have the opportunity to shape the direction of the company. We do not care about ranks or seniority. Your responsibilities as a Data Engineer will be to:

• Work with stakeholders to understand the business requirements for the data warehouse
• Design and implement a data warehouse that meets these requirements and leverages best practices for transactional efficiency and future utility
• Develop and maintain data pipelines to load data into the data warehouse from a variety of sources
• Optimize the data warehouse for performance and scalability
• Ensure the quality and reliability of data in the data warehouse
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to provide them with access to the data they need to do their work

WHAT EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• +3 years of proven experience as a Data Engineer, or in a similar role
• Communicate clearly and effectively at all levels in English
• Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Experience in designing and building data warehouses
• Technical expertise in data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques
• Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. Python)
• Hands-on experience with SQL database design
• Experience with designing and building Airflow pipelines
• Great numerical and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Great attention to detail
• Organizational skills

Great if you also have:

• Familiarity with integrating third-party APIs
• Familiarity with AWS or GCP services
• Experience in advertising and amiliarity with digital media platforms (DV360, Google Ads, The Trade Desk etc…)
