About the Role:

As the Accounting Manager - Revenue, you will have a direct impact on the organization through the management of the Sales & Revenue journey and provide hands-on support as we build complex product offerings, determine the appropriate revenue recognition and manage projects within the Revenue group.

As a business advisor, team mentor and individual contributor, you will work with Sales, Operations and other members of the Finance team as an integral member of the organization. You will manage the company’s revenue accounting policies and procedures to ensure they are effective and efficient. As a senior member of the team, you will ensure that the Company’s revenue recognition accounting positions are properly documented and in accordance with the applicable U.S. GAAP revenue guidance. It is a hands-on role that will see you getting involved in a wide range of processes in order to understand them and implement improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage revenue accounting including monthly close process, journal entries, accounting for revenue, deferred revenue, balance sheet reconciliations, and revenue related expenses, ensuring accurate and timely monthly closes.
  • Responsible for managing a team of revenue accountants, performance management, and identifying training and development needs of direct reports.
  • Able to provide technical revenue recognition leadership, analysis, and support on the appropriate application of ASC 606, advising on the accounting implications of non-standard financial terms and modifications of sales contracts
  • Overseeing and reviewing quotations, signed contracts, contract setup in the billing and revenue system (NetSuite) with a focus on contract linkage, identification of performance obligations (POBs), standalone selling price (SSP) allocation, and contract modifications to insure complete and accurate revenue reporting under ASC 606.
  • Direct impact on top line financial results and margin, through optimization and analysis of revenue recognition.
  • Play a key role in all financial system enhancements, upgrades, and improvements (including NetSuite and other internal systems) throughout the revenue cycle, with a focus on revenue automation and streamlining.
  • Partner with Order-to-Cash cross functional teams to ensure all fully executed agreements are properly processed and accounted for.
  • Work closely with the extended finance team to ensure controls are operating effectively around financial reporting and accounting activities
  • Partner with sales, sales operations, deal desk, delivery and other teams as needed, while being a trusted advisor and advocate for revenue recognition and contractual optimization.
  • Ability to adapt within an evolving environment and high growth industry.
  • Analyze period over period fluctuations and provide insightful analysis of key business drivers, responding timely to inquiries via research and analysis.
  • Assists with the coordination of the company’s audits including the annual external audit.
  • Maintains key external relationships including external auditors, financial institutions, and other institutions that are relevant to the financial operations of the organization.
  • Works on special projects as needed.


About You:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & CPA/Chartered Accountant designation is required
  • Minimum of 5 to 7+ years of progressive Accounting and Finance experience
  • Public accounting experience a plus
  • Strong technical accounting background with experience applying US GAAP revenue recognition accounting
  • Desire to work within a fast growth, high-tech international business
  • Willingness to work flexible hours to better align with US and EMEA regions a plus
  • Comfort with the only constant of change
  • Private and public company experience preferred

  • Keen eye for process improvement

  • Trivia knowledge a plus

  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
  • Salesforce and NetSuite experience a plus

Education:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a college or university degree is a plus
