The Security Associate role offers an exciting opportunity to work within the world renowned and truly global SpiderLabs team. The team currently has security consultants throughout North America, Latin and Central America, Europe, Africa, Australia, and Asia.
This role is responsible for delivering Vulnerability Management services for various clients in a consultative manner with the goal of helping them improve their overall security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver vulnerability assessments and security testing services for various client networks and applications
- Work with the team to setup and deliver vulnerability scanning services for different enterprise level clients
- Perform some penetration testing activities as needed by the client
- Provide training and advisories on different vulnerability scanning technologies and practices
- Develop tools and processes to automate and simplify vulnerability management
- Interact with clients and different stakeholders to deliver security assessment results and provide advisory on how to remediate, manage the risks and improve client’s overall security posture
- Help mentor more junior members of the team and work with them in delivering different projects
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1-3 years professional experience performing security testing of application and network targets; preferably some of that experience will be in a consulting environment.
- Proven experience and knowledge in managing/deploying some Vulnerability Scanning technologies such as Nessus, Qualys, Rapid7, Nexpose or Netsparker is preferred
- Experience in running or managing Vulnerability Management operations/programs
- Good foundational knowledge in security. Can explain vulnerabilities and the risk they bring to the organization.
- General knowledge and understanding in HTTP, TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of web application technologies and architectures.
- Certifications such as CEH, SEC+, CISSP, OSCP, CREST CRT are desirable.
- Good consulting and client management skills. Can work with different stakeholders (ie Project managers, developers, non-tech app owners)
- Excellent English language communication skills.
- Is a highly autonomous worker, able to operate with little to no supervision
- Strong team player
- Passion for and desire to pursue a great career in security and consulting
Education:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a college or university degree is a plus.
