What we’re looking for

Vacasa is seeking a hands on Compensation Manager to provide support for our global business by acting as the subject matter expert of our compensation programs. This role will manage the compensation function to effectively implement, administer, iterate, and manage the company’s compensation programs, policies, and initiatives. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Compensation Manager will have an apt ability to evaluate our employee’s total compensation packages through a lens of industry benchmarks, individual skills and experience, and company’s financial performance.

What you’ll do

In this critical role, you’ll be responsible for working collaboratively with all levels of the organization and supporting them with compensation planning and administration. This role requires strong, forward facing customer focus, an inclination toward collaboration, and a passion to drive continuous process improvement.

  • Bring your expertise and perspective to evaluate our compensation programs, including base pay, equity, incentives, and merit
  • Partner cross functionally to design and deliver competitive, effective, and equitable compensation programs, including incentive plans for our corporate, field and sales people
  • Manage and monitor approved compensation budgets and processes
  • Lead and participate in various Human Resources projects and initiatives to bring your insight from the compensation perspective
  • Partner closely with the Human team to help develop, implement, and elevate compensation communication and training programs for business leaders and the broader Human Resources team
  • Manage the development, improvement and administration of compensation analytics, tools, and systems
  • Lead the execution of annual compensation reviews, global salary market data submission and data procurement, job benchmarking, salary structure adjustments, year-end reviews, and other major compensation activities
  • Ensure internal equity, external competitiveness, and market alignment of total compensation through job analysis/evaluations and benchmarking exercises
  • Own and maintain compensation compliance
  • Preparing ad-hoc compensation analyses and partnering with business leaders, HR Business Partners and Recruiting on compensation related items such as offer letters, promotions, org design, internal transfers, and retention packages
  • Develop and document standards that ensure global data integrity is compliant with GDPR and related regulations.

Skills you’ll need

  • A HR and compensation professional who is a highly collaborative, curious and critical thinker with 7+ years of experience in compensation plan strategy, design, and administration with proven experience designing and implementing compensation programs globally
  • Adept at problem solving and moving quickly to find solutions
  • Must be able to carefully manage sensitive and confidential information
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast paced, often changing environment
  • A solid understanding of applicable compensation laws and regulatory requirements in the U.S., and other international locations
  • A trusted advisor and partner to the Human Resources team, and to the business who models optimism through tough problems, and is a strong promoter of collaboration and professionalism
  • Leadership skills are well-balanced with a willingness to get into the weeds, learn the business, and be hands on when needed
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills to effectively communicate compensation at all levels, from administrative to the C-Suite
  • Ability to think holistically, strategically and equitably to effectively translate data into actionable insights, strategies and budget planning
  • A story teller. Knowledgeable in using data to help tell compelling compensation stories
  • Capable of building compensation models to help inform on compensation initiatives and budget
  • Professional communication in email, phone calls, video calls, and texts
  • Ability to work well under pressure in an agile, face-paced environment
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to change activity frequently and cope with interruptions
  • Highly responsive and reliable
  • Prior management experience preferred

Compensation:

  • $80000 - $100000 / year. Actual pay will vary based on a candidate's skill, experience, education and/or location
