About the opportunity

As the VP of SaaS Engineering for Xplor Technologies, you play a crucial role in leading and managing the SaaS Xplor Gym engineering department. Your responsibilities involve overseeing multiple teams and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software products.

This role requires a strategic and hands-on leader who can balance execution with innovation driving delivery excellence, scaling teams, and aligning technology strategy with business outcomes.

The VP of Engineering will be responsible for shaping the engineering culture, maturing our SDLC practices, and ensuring our products are scalable, secure, and delight customers.

Location: At Xplor, we value flexibility. This role is fully remote within Australia, open to candidates with full working rights. You’ll collaborate closely with your team across time zones, so some overlap in working hours is important. Occasional business travel will be part of the role to stay connected and aligned.

Required qualifications for the role:

  • Previous leadership experience, ideally in a multi-region (global) SaaS environment with proven track record of driving innovation.
  • Deep expertise in Connect & Ecosystem technologies with strategic thinking capabilities
  • Culture builder who sets the tone for high delivery, accountability, and quality.
  • Global team experience leading geographically distributed engineering organisations.
  • Change agent mindset focused on simplifying processes and driving continuous improvement.
  • Expert-level understanding of AWS/cloud-native infrastructure and microservices
  • Mastery of SaaS/IaaS/PaaS platforms, container orchestration, and service mesh architectures.
  • Strong grasp of API design, architectural governance, and managing technical debt
  • Experience with operational concerns including resiliency, observability, and security
