This segment offers indoor telecom systems, such as home networking, broadband connectivity, power plug systems, and IPTV solutions; fiber network systems; and copper network systems. The Telecom Solutions segment serves telecom and cable operators, service providers, telecom installers, telecom retailers, and housing association markets. The company's Building Solutions segment provides solutions in the field of electro-technology for the care and security sectors. This segment's product line includes building technologies comprising structured plug and play cable systems, light and light switch systems, video communication, and information systems; security systems, such as systems for CCTV, video/audio analysis and detection, intercom, access control, central control rooms, and retail security; and connectivity systems, such as specialty cable systems for shipbuilding, railways, infrastructure, and energy markets. The Building Solutions segment serves utility, government, traffic infrastructure, care institutions, parking organizations, marine and offshore, energy companies, and rail markets.

Established in 2004, PFG was founded by the former owners and managers of Hambrecht & Quist's venture lending business, which was started in 1983. Founders Don Campbell and Andrew Kahn have over 25 years working together providing loans to emerging technology and life science companies. Together as a team, the founding partners have financed over 137 technology and life science companies dating back to mid to late 1980's including, for example, equipment leases to Sybase and AOL. Throughout the 1980's and 1990's, they provided debt financing as part of the investment banking firm, Hambrecht and Quist. Four years after Hambrecht and Quist was acquired by Chase Manhattan Bank and subsequently merged with JP Morgan, Andrew and Don formed Partners for Growth and partnered with Silicon Valley Bank to continue to provide debt solutions that are not available through traditional commercial lending providers.
